A possible solution to the mystery behind the identity of the masked torchbearer who carried the Olympic flame through the streets of Paris appears to have been provided by Simon Nogueira, a 27-year-old French runner who has “built” his reputation on the rooftops of the French capital.
More specifically, Nogueira revealed in a post that he was the torchbearer, but later deleted it.
From the beginning of the opening ceremony and after seeing the first forms of the masked man, some viewers assumed that it was indeed him.

Nogueira first posted an Instagram story confirming that he was indeed the stuntman and added that he wasn’t the only artist to appear in the costume. But he later deleted his posts.
Simone Nogueira posted on Instagram: “Obviously I wasn’t everywhere. Other great artists have also played this character.”
This assumption was reportedly confirmed by Clement Dumais, the 2019 Chase Tag World Champion and seven-time Ninja Warrior finalist, who said: “There were 12 people in total playing the character!”
