423,000 tax returns automatically ‘failed’ – 8 out of 10 pay no extra tax

423,000 tax returns automatically ‘failed’ – 8 out of 10 pay no extra tax

On Wednesday morning, 3/7, the process of automatically completing the completed data began, which was completed by issuing their settlement vouchers.

This procedure was implemented for the first time this year by the Authority, and through it 422,878 tax returns were automatically completed.

From these sayings the following is clear:

• 132,222 taxpayers will receive a tax refund, with an average refund of €128.

• For 237,434 taxpayers, the return result was zero.

• 109,699 taxpayers are required to pay additional tax, with an average tax of 402 euros.

• Based on the evidence, 93,204 debtors and 5,093 spouses/parties to a cohabitation agreement were taxed.

Changes without penalty

In case of need to correct or supplement previously filled returns, taxpayers can file an amended return until 7/26 (the deadline for filing returns) without penalties.

At the same time, 8,036 letters have so far been sent to taxpayers whose data has been changed and whose declaration could not be filled out in advance and automatically completed. According to the AADE, letters will be sent in the near future for the same reason to an additional 6,930 taxpayers.

In contrast, taxpayers who have submitted returns, but whose data has been sent after submission from public/private entities that change their final incomes, will be notified.

Taxpayers who have received or will receive the relevant letters must file their tax returns by 7/26.

We remind you that income tax returns are submitted through the myAADE digital portal (myaade.gov.gr), in the path Applications > Common Applications > FEFP Declaration (E1-E2-E3) > Log in to the application > “2024 DECLARATION”.
