Electricity bills: how long will the subsidy “last”?

Electricity bills: how long will the subsidy “last”?

Support will continue to “run” until August 2023 Electricity Bills Based on his designs Ministry of Finance: This of course does not rule out a possible violent outage, but in the event that energy prices register a significant decline or continue into the coming fall if tariffs are not cut Stream.

However, it is interesting to note that two-thirds of the subsidies given so far to electricity are directed at businesses!

What is also interesting is the fact that despite the huge government support – as shown in the relevant data – that companies have received in order to deal with energy costs, this has not been able to stop the tsunami of precision that is sweeping the market from one end to the other. !

After all, the main reason cited by industrial units and even farmers to justify their lower production, lack of products and the jump in their prices is precisely this: energy costs!

The “net” amounts of electricity after subsidizing the subsidy

as it states anikonomia.grHowever, in October, households will pay more for electricity for another month – despite state help – as the “net” amounts they will eventually pay (i.e. the price of each provider after deducting government subsidies) start from €0.14/kWh and go up to 0.355 euros / kWh. However, in order to have the cheapest “net” cost, at least two conditions must be met.

It is characteristic that after the announcement of the new tiered subsidy, in order for the family to “earn” the net fee 0.14 € / kWh for electricity, it must meet two conditions: a low consumption of less than 500 kWh and be fortunate enough to be hosted by the provider with the lowest fee. Otherwise, the “net” amount that the family will pay is about 0.245 € / kWh.

What are the rates charged by the service providers?

Of course, this price strictly refers to the cost of electricity per kilowatt-hour. The final bill includes both the fixed fee, which is “capped” at €5, plus third-party fees and municipal fees.

But what are the companies’ bills for the month of October?

  • PPC suggests the following prices:

For consumption up to 500 kWh 0.59500 euros, from 0.78800 in September and 0.48600 in August.

For consumption over 500 kWh the price is 0.60700, from 0.80000 in September and 0.49800 in August.

As for the nightly tariff, the pay-per-click rate for October – regardless of consumption – is €0.555,400, from 0.74700 in September and 0.44500 in August.

The fixed price for PPC in October is 3.5 euros.

  • Protergia announced a price of 0.57630 per kWh in October, while the fixed price was €5
  • Heron Generous 55 cents per kWh, 20% off consistency
  • Elpedison 59.05-63.06 cents per kWh, with consistency discount
  • Volterra 68.5 cents per kilowatt-hour
  • Elin 59.9 cents per kilowatt hour
  • Watt + Volt 58.9 cents per kilowatt-hour, no fixed conditions or other
  • NRG 57.9-59.9 cents per kWh
  • Natural Gas Greece 57.4-58.6 cents per kWh with consistency discount

How much is state support in October – examples

From October 1, there is a tiered subsidy for electricity bills for households with three levels: they can be divided into low consumption, medium consumption, and high consumption.

The support applies to all major and non-core residency benefits, without income criteria and regardless of the provider.

At the same time, for the second and third scales, it is expected that bonuses will be awarded with additional support for reducing consumption. So:

  • For a monthly consumption of up to 500 kWh, the support is 0.436 euros per kWh. So, a family that consumes on average for example: 400 kWh without subsidies will pay 236 euros. With the state contribution, the amount drops to 62 euros
  • For monthly consumption from 501 to 1000 kWh the subsidy is 0.386 euros per kWh. If a household reduces its average daily consumption by 15% compared to last year, its subsidy increases by 0.50 euros per kWh. In this case he gets support from the previous schedule. For example, even a family that consumes 700 kWh without subsidies will pay 413 euros. With the state’s contribution, the amount drops to 118 euros. If it turns out that savings were made, the amount will be limited to 108 euros.
  • For a monthly consumption of more than 1001 kWh, the subsidy is 0.336 euros per kWh. On this scale, the additional subsidy of €0.50 per kWh is applied if there is a 15% reduction in consumption. For example, even a family that consumes 1,200 kWh without subsidies will pay 708 euros. With the state contribution, the amount drops to 230 euros. If it turns out that savings have been made, the amount will be limited to 194.8 euros.

Support professionals and farmers

For households covered by the local social tariff, the subsidy is 0.485 euros per kilowatt-hour.

With regard to the subsidy of professional tariffs for non-domestic consumers with a power supply of up to 35 kVA, the subsidy for the first 2000 kWh of consumption in October is 0.398 euros per kWh.

For farmers, the subsidy is horizontal and amounts to 0.436 euros per kilowatt-hour.
