An angry response from SYRIZA MEP, Dimitris Papadimoulis, from the head of the European Parliament’s PEGA Committee.
Dimitris Papadimoulis wrote on Twitter that the EP team on eavesdropping was coming to Greece and spoke of “good news” while announcing the plan of the PEGA mission to Athens.
The program was reproduced with the explanation that the team wanted to come to Greece to investigate the use of such software.
The group’s chairman, Jeroen Leiners, condemned the release of the relevant file, saying Mr. Papadimoulis clarified that the conclusion presented was nothing more than “very preliminary”. A draft agenda for internal use, it was not even shared with political groups or other interlocutors.
“This is only a first draft agenda, for internal administrative use only, which has not even been shared with political groups, let alone potential interlocutors,” wrote Jeroen Leiners, head of Pegasus and the associated European Parliament’s inquiry. Spy Tracking Software (PEGA).
“It is disgraceful that the Vice-President of the European Parliament would share such an internal draft document for domestic political purposes.”
“We did not approach any potential representatives of the Greek government to meet with us during our mission. Now that this has been leaked, we will reconsider how we conduct this mission,” said Jeroen Leiners, responding to Temin’s tweet. Papathimauli.
ND MEP, Anna-Michael AssimakopoulouMr. Papattimoulis left a spike, writing on Twitter that “it’s not the first time he’s overstepped the mark, and the opposition can’t contain their anger.”
