Panos Ioannidis was a guest on “The 2 Night Show” on Wednesday night, where he spoke, among other things, for the first time about his partner and their nine-month-old son.
“He’s a lawyer and we think quite differently. It’s enough for her to have the food well cooked. He doesn’t drink, and they don’t get too focused, to have something well cooked and fresh. Now I’m trying to teach her to cook a little bit. Something’s starting to happen. We’re on a good level but she’s a tough student. Extremely!
He added, “The baby is another track, I sleep a few hours. I’ll be busy too. My partner puts a lot of effort into it.”
In fact, Panos Ioannidis revealed that this year he bought a house in Pelion and his dream is to live there sometime with his family. Characteristically, he said, “This year we bought a house in Pelion and I would like to live there permanently at some point.”
When Panos Ioannides cooked for the Prince of Monaco
In another part of his interview, Panos Ioannidis talks about his beginnings as a chef and mentions the time he cooked for the Prince of Monaco.
“The first food I cooked when my grandmother was asleep was mussels. Cooking has always been a difficult task. Chefs are used to sticking to heavy and unhealthy, it was like building.
However, in 1990 it was not at all fashionable to be a chef. It’s a legend that I’m an expert on pasta, I’ve lived many years in Italy, and learned their culture. Fine gastronomy is about giving you the inner orgasm, the umami experience.”
When you’re cooking for people who can eat best to best, expectations are definitely very high. What I remember was with the Prince of Monaco that I cooked food for him privately, when I asked him who was the chef in the palace, it was Alain Ducasse, and she suggested that I cook Greek cuisine. So I did my best in Greek flavours.”
