iPhones will soon feature the iPhone Call Sound Isolation feature

iPhone users who still use their phone like a… regular phone (i.e. to answer calls or make phone calls) They will have it soon The ability to filter out background noise to make their communications cleaner and sharper with the upcoming release of iOS 16.4 and some new apps related to sound isolation.

Apple introduced Voice Isolation in FaceTime calls last year. The feature filters out background noise, making sounds clearer, and is activated through the menu in the app’s Control Center. Previously available only for VOIP (Voice over IP) calls, the voice isolation feature will now be available for calls that use the traditional mobile network.

iOS 16.4 is scheduled to be released sometime next week to coincide with the release of the Apple Music Classical app. The latest version 16.4 RC (Release Candidate) was made available last Tuesday to developers and select users whose devices are on Apple’s list as beta testers. Accessing sound isolation in calls works the same way it does in FaceTime. So, during a call, users can access Control Center, tap on microphone mode, and then select “Isolation” from a list of three options. The other option is called “wide spectrum” and allows the interlocutors to hear more background/ambient noise.

The new iOS version brings some minor improvements, bug fixes, and 21 new emoji with Unicode 15 support (those who type a lot may find this feature appealing). In terms of additional features, iOS 16.4 will allow notifications from web apps to appear on the home screen and brings a new accessibility setting that automatically dims video if a flash or strobe light is detected. Photos will also detect duplicate photos (they will appear in your iCloud shared photo library).

There are also some bug fixes, including some improvements to problem/bug detection on iPhone 14 and 14 Pro devices. Apple also announced that it is also fixing an issue with some Matter-compatible thermostats that stop responding when paired with an Apple Home device.
