Today, Friday, April 7, OPCA announced it will also pay child benefit to beneficiaries who were not paid on March 31, 2023, due to Outstanding tax issues from previous years.

Said beneficiaries will have the relevant personal information through the online application for child benefits.

The amount payable, for each case, will be calculated based on the dependent children who will be declared in the A21 of 2023 and of the total household income Citizens of the 2022 tax year. However, until the 2023 income tax return is filed, the 2021 tax year income will be taken into account to calculate the amount owed.

The Welfare and Social Solidarity Benefits Organization (oppa), the above beneficiaries will obtain the relevant personal information, through the electronic application for the child benefit.

  • A family of two parents and two children, with an annual income of €28,000: The scale of the family equation is: 1 + 1/2 +1/4 + 1/4 = 2. So the equivalent income is: €28,000 / 2 = €14,000. The family therefore belongs to income scale C and will receive an allowance of 56 euros per month.
  • A family of two parents and one child, with an annual income of €26,000: The family equation scale is: 1 + 1/2 +1/4 = 1.75. So the equivalent income is: 26,000 euros / 1.75 = 14,857 euros. The family therefore belongs to income scale C and will receive an allowance of €28 per month.
