ROG 7 Series: Faster, More Efficient, and Better-Performing ASUS Gaming Smartphones – Asus

ROG Phone 7 and Phone 7 Ultimate are the latest models in Asus’ range of gaming-focused smartphones.

Their release starts this month while in terms of pricing, in Europe, the ROG Phone 7 starts at €999 while the Phone 7 will cost €1,399 in a single version with 512GB of storage.

Being focused on gaming, both devices are, of course, equipped with Qualcomm’s latest chipset, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset that offers the best performance in the Android ecosystem. Unlike most smartphones with the same SoC, ROG Phone 7 series runs at 3.2GHz, which is 15% faster and 15% more efficient than the previous generation. Paired with up to 16GB of 8,533Mbps LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.0 ROM, it’s twice as fast as UFS 3.0. It also supports Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) with Qualcomm FastConnect 7800, for more stable wireless connections with the best possible speeds.

ROG 7 Ultimate

Still unlike the majority of Android smartphones, the implementation of Qualcomm’s latest chipset in the ROG 7 series comes with an upgraded “GameCool 7 thermal system” designed to deliver the best possible performance from the processor, keeping its temperature at normal levels even under a workload. heavy. . ASUS claims that the new gaming smartphone’s cooling system dissipates heat up to 168% more efficiently than last year’s ROG Phone 6.

If you want even more cooling, the Ultimate version of the phone comes with an active cooling fan accessory, the AeroActive Cooler 7. When connected, a small air intake (AeroActive Gate) on the phone opens and allows cool air to pass directly over the vapor chamber cooling fins. ASUS says this allows for up to 20% more thermal performance. Portal isn’t new since we saw it last year on the ROG Phone 6D Ultimate, and it doesn’t seem to have stopped the ROG Phone 7 Ultimate from getting IP54 certified for dust and water resistance.

The AeroActive Cooler 7 also features a built-in subwoofer that ASUS claims delivers 77% more bass. The presence of the subwoofer comes in addition to the smartphone’s dual front-facing speakers which seem to have 50% more “volume effective” than last year’s model. Finally, there’s a 3.5mm headphone jack if you’d rather skip the built-in speakers altogether.

In addition to improved cooling and sound, the AeroActive Cooler 7 also includes four physical buttons for a more traditional control experience, a kickstand, RGB lighting (obviously), an auxiliary USB-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Under all these features for demanding games, the ROG Phone 7 and 7 Ultimate are pretty standard smartphones. Both models feature 6.78-inch OLED displays with a maximum brightness of 1,500 nits and a refresh rate of 165Hz. It’s powered by a 6,000mAh battery that can quickly charge at speeds of up to 65W (charger included in the package) and has a central camera system on the back with a 50MP main sensor, a 13MP ultra-wide camera, as well as a 5MP macro camera for long close-ups. The Ultimate model also comes with a second screen on the back, as we’ve seen on previous ROG models like the ROG Phone 5 Ultimate, which can display custom messages and designs, which the user can access through special software built into a smartphone.

According to our information, the Ultimate Edition will definitely launch in Greece in the coming weeks, with the price yet to be determined.
