Weather Today: Rain in most parts of the country

Read the National Meteorological Service (NMS) forecast for today, Wednesday, May 3, 2023.

In Ionia, Epirus, Thessaly, Macedonia, Thrace, Western and Central Styria and Western and Northern Peloponnese, rain and storms are forecast, strong in places and accompanied by hail. In the rest of the country, clouds increased at intervals with local rain and over the mainland and the northern Aegean, occasional storms.

Winds will be from easterly 4 to 6 Beaufort in the North and southeast 4 to 6 over the rest of the country in local seas up to 7 Beaufort, weakening slightly in the evening.
The temperature will drop slightly in West, Center and North, where it will reach 18 to 20 degrees, while in other areas it will reach 21 to 23 degrees Celsius.

Weather: Clouds increased at intervals with localized showers and mainly westerly squalls.
Wind: Southeast 3 to 5 Beaufort.

Thessaloniki
Weather: Cloudy with rain and scattered storms. The effects are sometimes strong.
Winds: East Southeast 3 to 5 Beaufort will weaken through the afternoon.
Temperature: 12 to 17 degrees Celsius.

Macedonia, Thrace
Weather: Cloudy with rain and scattered storms in west and quick in other parts. The effects will be strong in places in central Macedonia, in western Macedonia until the afternoon, and in eastern Macedonia and Thrace until midday.
Winds: East 4 to 6 Beaufort, weakening slightly in the afternoon.
Temperature: 08 to 18 and up to 20 degrees Celsius in Eastern Macedonia and Thrace.

Ionian Islands, Epirus, Western Mainland, Western Peloponnese
Weather: Cloudy with rain and scattered storms. In Ionian, western Styria and Epirus and western Peloponnese the effects are strong even in the afternoon.
Winds: Southeast 4 to 6 and locally weakening to 7 Beaufort in the Ionian from the afternoon.
Temperature: 11 to 20 degrees Celsius.

Thessaly, Eastern Continent, Eastern Peloponnese
Weather: Clouds with localized rain and scattered thunderstorms will increase at times. Effects will be stronger in places in Thessaly and in central Styria and northern Peloponnese until the afternoon.
Wind: 4 to 6 Beaufort in the northeast southeast and the same intensity in the south south southeast, weakening slightly from the afternoon.
Temperature: 10 to 22 degrees Celsius. The maximum in the north has decreased by 3 to 4 degrees.

Cyclades, Crete
Weather: Intermittent increased clouds with occasional localized showers.
Wind: Southeast 6 to 7 Beaufort weakening slightly in the evening.
Temperature: 13 to 23 degrees Celsius.

Eastern Aegean Islands – Dodecanese
Weather: Intermittent increasing clouds with localized rain in the north, occasional storms at noon and elsewhere.
Wind: 5 to 6 Beaufort from North East. South Southeast 6 to 7 Beaufort weakens slightly in the evening.
Temperature: 13 to 23 degrees Celsius.

EUBOEA
Weather: Clouds increased at intervals with localized showers and mainly northerly squalls.
Winds: East Southeast 4 to 6 Beaufort will weaken from afternoon.
Temperature: 12 to 22 degrees Celsius.
