Women who live alone will be adopted by men.

The statement of Aynur Solon, a member of the Free Purposes Party (HüDa Par), with whom Recep Tayyip Erdogan allied himself to secure another election victory, caused an uproar in Turkey in recent days.

“Women left alone will be adopted by men,” said Ainur Solon, a statement that shocks, but can’t be surprising, if you consider it to be a far-right Sunni party with a zero percent rating, but one that has…a terrorist background.

After the decision to end the armed struggle in 2002, activists from the Hezbollah-affiliated Manzil group founded an association called “Solidarity with the Oppressed” in 2003. In 2010 they organized a mass rally in Diyarbakir to celebrate the anniversary of Muhammad’s birth. Turkish police estimated two million people attended the event, organizers said more than 2.5 million people. Days later, a court in Diyarbakir ordered the closure of the Mostazafan Union on the grounds that it “carries out activities for the benefit of the terrorist organization Hezbollah”. The decision was upheld by the Court of Cassation on 11 May 2012. In late 2012, the Movement of the Oppressed announced its intention to establish a political party, primarily to challenge the dominance of the Kurdish nationalist and leftist Peace and Democracy Party. On December 17, 2012, the Free Purpose Party (Hür Dava Partisi) was founded. On January 9, 2013, the general headquarters was opened in Ankara.

In this year’s Turkish elections, HüDa Par secured four seats in the Turkish National Assembly.

CHP deputies were quick to capitalize on the extreme statement, calling on citizens to vote for Kemal Kilicdaroglu for president, in the second round of elections on May 28, 2023, as “there can be no terrorists in parliament who consider women their property, want to kill them.” “Sell them and treat them like slaves with a string around their neck.”
