Antonio Cordón brought his right-hand man to Greece at Betis, his compatriot Jose Ignacio Navarro, who was the chief scout of the Andalusian team. He has great knowledge of the Spanish and Portuguese market, as well as Latin America, with a primary focus on Brazil and Argentina.

Antonio Cordón’s priority is to appoint a coach to Olympiacos, but at the same time he also deals with other matters related to his competence. The athletic director for the red and white emphasizes staffing in the scouting department and will have several of his own to monitor the international market.

The 59-year-old Spaniard brought to Greece his right-hand man in Betis, compatriot Jose Ignacio Navarro, who was the chief scout for the Andalusian team. The 46-year-old has plenty of scouting experience, having spent nearly three years at Betis, another three at Villarreal and around eight years as partner of Monchi at Sevilla.

Navarro has extensive knowledge of the Spanish and Portuguese markets (he speaks English and Portuguese), as well as Latin America, with an emphasis on Brazil and Argentina. It is clear, then, that the reds and the whites will spread their nets in South America, and the latter have many partners on the other side of the Atlantic.

At the same time, Cordón will have his son Louis at his side at Olympiacos, who will have an important role in the scouting department, mainly looking for players of a young age. By the way, Antonio Cordón was informed of all the work that the red and white had done in scouting in recent years and he took into his hands everything that was going on in Jose Anigo and, of course, what was collected by Yannis Theodoro, Seamos Havos and Kobe Michaeli.

But Antonio Cordón already has a network from which he draws information on players who are interested in him at Olympiacos and with the arrival of the new coach, there will be discussions about specific targets. The Spaniard will be informed of the needs of the new coach, possibly of the players he wants, while the former also has suggestions for the footballers who have arrived at the offices of the red and whites.

At the moment, the priority is to agree with the new coach, which is reasonably expected within the next week, in order to start putting the pieces in the Olympiacos puzzle next season.
