Team USA’s roster already has 8 players and Steve Kerr is looking for the four to complete it

A few weeks before the start of preparations for the 2023 World Cup, Team USA knows eight of the 12 players on the roster who will compete in the Philippines for the title of world champion.

Steve Kerr (who replaced Gregg Popovich) has seen the commitment of the fine athletes, and now hopes to bring with him some of the faces that represented the United States at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics.

Team USA’s 2021 Summer Olympics Tokyo roster includes Jrue Holiday, Devin Booker, Zach LaVine, Damian Lillard, Kevin Durant, Jerami Grant, Draymond Green, Keldon Johnson, Khris Middleton, Jayson Tatum, Bam Antebayo, and JaVale McGee.

At first reading, Kerr needs another player in the four, possibly fifth, supplementary, at 4-5. Bam Adebayo can fill a big need in the five and share the place with Jaren Jackson, with Portis dropping further to the four but providing both high points.

In the remaining two spots, the USA team coach wants players like Jrue Holiday, Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum, Devin Booker, top-tier players he can offer on both sides of the court.

Veteran basketball player Grant Hill is now the NBA decision-maker responsible for contacting the athletes the Americans need in the next two tournaments. In both the 2023 World Cup and the 2024 Olympic Games, which will be held in Paris.

Greece will take on Team USA in a friendly match in Abu Dhabi on August 18th and then meet them again in the group stage at the Mondo Basket on August 28th at the Mall of Asia Arena in Manila.
