Nikos Ambatielos candidate for mayor of Piraeus through “mobilization of the people”.

In an event organized on Wednesday evening, the KKE announced the candidacy of Nikos Abatielos as head of the “People’s Rally” for Piraeus City Council.

Nikos Sofianos, who attended the event, has already been announced as the leader of the “People’s Assembly” and a mayoral candidate for the Athens Municipality.

N. Ambatielos, Member of Parliament for Piraeus A of the KKE and member of the party’s KE, succeeded Diamanto Manolakos, Member of Parliament for Piraeus B of the KKE and member of the KE, as Piraeus Mayoral candidate.

Christina Panagiotakopoulou, a member of the KKE’s Central Committee and the party’s press office, made the announcement at an event for journalists held at the KKE’s Central Committee headquarters in Perisos.

Dimitris Koutsoubas, General Secretary of KKE’s Central Committee attended the event and interacted with all the media.

“Against the Bagoyiannis administration, we are the only ones opposed from the point of view of protecting the interests of Athens,” Nikos Sofianos said.

“After the KKE’s significant rise in the working-class neighborhoods of Praeus, we are strengthening the workers’ voice in the municipality of Praeus with the “People’s Rally” ballot,” said Nikos Ambatielos.
