Singer Christos Avgerinos passed away – awarded the song “For the Eyes of the World”

At the age of seventy

The great Greek singer Christos Avgerinos breathed his last at the age of 70.

The unpleasant news was announced by actor Panos Soupiadis through an influential post on Facebook.

“Larissa’s beloved singer, Christos Avgerinos, has passed away at the age of 70. He was being treated at AHEPA. May God have mercy on him. His funeral will be held tomorrow, Tuesday 11/7, at the Church of Panagia Laodegetria in the center of Thessaloniki.”

Who is Christos Avgerinos?

Christos Dabus was born on November 27, 1953 in Larissa. Under the name “Eugerinus” he sang in secular centers in our city and abroad, singing suxes at the time while playing the saxophone at the same time.

After his military service, where he served in Kozani’s Military Music, he returned to Larissa where he continued his studies at DOL, earning degrees in harmony, ode, musical arrangement and conducting. His dream was to start a band in his home country.

His first song was “Ei se dillima”, but his big success was in the early 1990s with the song “For the eyes of the world”.

His other songs are “Take zero again”, “Something like story”, “In the reverse the direction”, “the big loves” and others. He has performed on the big Athenian tracks with great artists, but also abroad, in the American diaspora, in Cyprus, Germany and in many cities of Greece.

When he went down to Athens, Christos Avgerinus appeared with Jenny Fano. Christos Avgerinos released a total of 8 records, however, although he tried hard, his last records were left unclaimed and thus Avgerinos slowly disappeared from the limelight.

In recent years he has lived permanently in Thessaloniki and with some unusual appearances, has attempted to recolor his “faded” image again.
