A very serious complaint has been made about fixed matches in Super League 1 in Areopagus, and even in name. According to the sports blog dikisports.blogspot.comAnother important element was added to the judicial investigation into the illegal international betting ring.
A registered letter was sent to Areopagus, which states that five PAE bosses of Super League 1 were betting on fixed matches for their teams. The letter is said to have been written by a football agent, which refers to the 2021-2022 season.
According to dikisports.blogspot.com, the letter’s complaint states that two chiefs jointly bet the match between themselves and “limited themselves to the outcome of a wide-scoring first half.”
Also, another person, the president and owner of PAE, bet twice, and indeed successfully, on the defeat of his team.
Two others bet through circle symbols on the results of their teams formed in the final minutes of the games.
The letter will reportedly be linked to investigations by Eurojust, Interpol, the Athens Public Prosecutor’s Office and the Economic Police into an illegal betting scandal involving groups from at least five countries, including Greece.
It should be noted that Austria was also targeted by the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) for match-fixing, while judicial assistance was also sought from the authorities of Sweden, Slovenia, Slovakia and the Czech Republic.
In Greece, the investigation is said to concern both the institutional actors of Super League 2 and the heads of PAE but also the “financiers”. In the course of the investigation, cell phones and computers were seized.
