Fires in Rhodes: All four ends of the island are out of control

For the third day in a row, firefighters across the country had to deal with multiple fires.

Water drops from firefighting planes in Rhodes resumed shortly after a temporary halt due to thick smoke that made the pilots’ work difficult.

Meanwhile, ground firefighting efforts continue at all four ends of the island.

The situation is now dire and legitimate concerns are being expressed about the scale of the disaster.
