The new first aid amount for flood victims is 8.6 million euros

New first-aid payments were made today to victims of floods in various parts of the country, especially in Thessaly, due to the bad weather at the beginning of September. In particular, 8,606,711.81 euros were credited to citizens’ bank accounts.

In particular, 1,602 natural persons have been granted 8.56 million euros for basic living needs and simple repair work and/or replacement of household appliances in regional units, as indicated by the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection in its announcement. These are monies received through the automatic identification process of the Independent Public Revenue Authority (AADE) for specific villages fully and substantially affected by the flood event, arising after the cooperation of the fire department, and cross-cutting. In addition, 42,257.60 euros were paid as first aid against housing assistance to 7 flood victims in Thessaly and Central Greece region through applications submitted to the first aid site arogi.gov.gr.

It is worth noting that beneficiaries may not have emerged from AADE’s automatic identification process because, inter alia, they: (a) do not have or submit an IBAN, (b) address details are not clearly recorded. It should be noted that within the framework of assistance through arogi.gov.gr for basic needs, damage to household goods and simple repair work, the following are provided:

Finally, it is pointed out that checks and cross-checks of data are carried out according to the post-mortems of the services of the General Directorate for the recovery of the effects of natural disasters, according to the payment of aid.
