theGoogle It announced that it will now require senders who send more than 5,000 messages a day to email users to enter an unsubscribe option.
Additionally, some senders will be required to verify their email address to prove that they own their domain name and are not spoofing IP addresses. Google may not even deliver any messages whose senders are repeatedly marked as spam by users.
These actions are expected since large tech companies and spammers use emails to phish or send malware.
Google says it leverages AI technology to stop over 99.9% of spam and blocks 15 billion spam emails every day.
“These changes are necessary so we can keep email running smoothly,” Google product manager Neil Kumaran wrote in a blog post.
Not long ago, Google also announced that AI will now be able to make it easier for users to compose emails through the Gmail app. The company will integrate so-called “creative” AI into Gmail to help quickly expand emails, called Help Me Write.
“Just type what you want, press ‘Create,’ and a complete draft will appear,” Google CEO Sundar Pichai said.
Google has more than 3 billion Workspace users, from simple consumers of the free version to businesses paying for app subscriptions.
