First specifications of the Samsung Exynos 2400 SoC that will power some models of the Galaxy S24 series – Samsung

At the System LSI Tech Day 2023 conference, Samsung revealed initial details about its next flagship smartphone chipset, the Exynos 2400.

This is expected to power certain versions of the Galaxy S24 series that will be launched in early 2024.

The South Korean company claims that the Exynos 2400 SoC offers a 70% increase in CPU performance and up to 14.7 times faster AI processing compared to the Exynos 2200 chipset released in 2021. The 10-core CPU is rumored to use 1x Cortex-X4 core, 2 Cortex-A720 cores, 3 Cortex-A710 cores, and 4 Cortex-A510 cores based on Arm v9.2 architecture.

For graphics, the Exynos 2400 will feature an Using Samsung’s advanced 4nm process.

The capabilities of AI were showcased with a new text-to-image generator intended for future Galaxy smartphones. The Exynos 2400 will also include an advanced 5G modem with satellite network support, potentially enabling emergency SOS communication like the iPhone and other smartphones.

Last year, Samsung extended its partnership with Qualcomm to have Snapdragon chipsets in premium Galaxy devices until 2030. The entire Galaxy S23 series was launched with the latest Snapdragon SoC globally. But the latest rumors suggest that Samsung may use its latest offering, the Exynos 2400, in two of the three models in the Galaxy S24 series, while the S24 Ultra retains the next Snapdragon processor that will be officially unveiled in November.

Previous Exynos chipsets have noticed performance and overheating issues. Samsung did not reveal specific performance gains on these fronts with its new offerings. With significant improvements in CPU and GPU performance, the company’s fans are hoping that the Exynos 2400 will finally offer a competitive high-end chip compared to market leaders like Snapdragon.
