The fire, which broke out on Friday night at a 4th floor apartment on Lykourgou Street in Moschato, was brought under control shortly after 1am on Saturday.
According to the fire department, residents of the apartment did not have to evacuate because a woman came out of the apartment with her child on their own. For precautionary reasons, EKAB was called.
A large fire brigade rushed to the spot and 24 firemen along with 7 vehicles and a dedicated arms carrier tried to prevent the fire from spreading to other residences. The apartment sustained major property damage.
