Diego Alonso’s spell at Seville lasted two months. The Uruguayan coach took charge of the Andalusians on October 10, 2023 and as of Saturday evening (16/12) is a thing of the past.
Sevilla’s defeat by Getafe was a swan song for the 48-year-old coach’s technical leadership, shortly after the club announced the end of their partnership. In 13 matches, Sevilla won two victories in the King’s Cup, and four defeats in the Champions League, which led to European exclusion, and in the league in seven matches they achieved five draws, two defeats, and did not achieve any victories.
The Andalusians are looking for their third coach this season, after José Luis Mendilibar at the start of the year, who achieved a record of two wins, four draws and five defeats.
According to the Relivo website, the candidates to succeed Alonso are Javi Gratia and Quique Setien. We remind you that reports of the past few days “linked” Sevilla to former Olympiacos coach Diego Martinez.
Quique Sanchez Flores and Javi Gracia are the two candidates for the Seville seat.
📌 After the dismissal of Diego Alonso, Sevilla’s board of directors has already begun work on appointing the new coach.
