Napoli 2-0: Subdued the champions by playing with nine men

Rome has conquered me 2-0 Napoli in the four derbies in the Italian League and surpassed them in the standings yet 17 matches.

Olimpico's impressive performance meant the Partenopei enjoyed possession but were unable to find space and break down the home side's multi-faceted defence. Jose Mourinho's men tried to strike mostly on the counter-attack and had more goals, but errors plagued both teams.

Roma's goal could have shaped the game from the first half. In the end, it happened due to a reckless move by Matteo Politano, who sent an opponent off the field after a foul and saw a direct red card in the 66th minute.

The “Giallorossi” took advantage of the above player, and with Mourinho’s golden change for captain Lorenzo Pellegrini, they found the goal in the 76th minute. Victor Osimhen was sent off with a second yellow card in the 86th minute, on the day the extension of his contract with the champions ended the match.

The only difference in the end was the result, as Romelu Lukaku scored his eighth goal in 14 league matches.
