× Qualcomm Located It is revamping its product lineup and recently added the Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 platform, with which it hopes to convince Apple's competitors to use it in their augmented/virtual reality glasses.

The new platform essentially replaces the Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2, features various performance improvements and aims to deliver an ultra-smooth user experience at 4.3K resolution at 90fps. The two companies currently working with Qualcomm to bring new products to the market are none other than Google and Samsung, which are known to compete with Apple in various market segments.

According to Qualcomm, the new platform offers an increase in the operating frequency of the processor (CPU) by up to 20% compared to its last generation, while the graphics processor (GPU) has an increased operating frequency of 15% compared to its previous version. With the new GPU, Qualcomm aims to deliver “amazing display and ultra-high-resolution gaming,” technologies that allow for resolutions of up to 4.3K. The platform also supports 12ms full color video viewing, WiFi 7, etc.

The new Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 platform shows that Qualcomm has no intention of leaving Apple alone in the market and reaping all the benefits. Also of particular note is the fact that it includes both Google and Samsung as partners, and it looks like we'll be hearing from both of these companies soon.
