App emulation has been a serious issue for Windows on Arm over the past decade, but Microsoft achieved this emulation with Windows 11 just over two years ago. These apps are key to improving the performance of the upcoming Windows on ARM-powered PCs, and Google recently released its own ARM64 version of Chrome to be ready for the upcoming devices.

Meanwhile, Microsoft is said to be planning to release models of the upcoming Surface Pro 10 and Surface Laptop 6 with Snapdragon X Elite processors instead of Intel's Core Ultra. Microsoft has already announced professional versions of these computers, with Intel processors, but the Arm series models will target the average consumer.

The new PCs will be shown off on May 20, just one day before the start of the annual Build conference aimed at developers. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella is expected to touch on the company's vision for AI in hardware and software, while the framework will be laid out for the new promotion of Windows on Arm and investments in AI operations for Windows 11.
