Avis Greece will receive a loan of approximately €68 million from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) to expand its fleet of approximately 3,000 electric vehicles. The move is part of the bank's efforts to support green and electrification initiatives in Greece.
This loan is linked to the EBRD's broader strategy to promote environmental sustainability and economic growth through sustainable investment.
The EBRD has set itself a target of becoming a predominantly “green” bank by 2025, prioritizing programs and initiatives that support the green transition and electrification, such as the Avis Greece programme. With this loan, Avis Greece continues to significantly modernize its fleet, adapting to new environmental requirements and modern market trends to achieve sustainability.
This program also offers great financial prospects for Avis Greece, as the switch to electric vehicles promises lower maintenance and operating costs compared to conventional vehicles. In addition, introducing electric vehicles to the consumer public enhances the company's positive image and strengthens its position in the market.
