Boeing 767 makes emergency landing in Türkiye – scary video

The plane was able to remain on the runway without the front landing gear.

The Turkish Ministry of Transport said that a FedEx Airlines Boeing 767 cargo plane made an emergency landing at Istanbul Airport without the front landing gear, but was able to remain on the runway, explaining that there were no casualties.

The Ministry of Transport said in a statement that the plane, a Boeing 767, which had taken off from Roissy Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris, informed the control tower at Istanbul Airport that the landing gear had not opened and landed based on the instructions of the control tower.

The statement stated that the airport’s rescue and firefighting crews were on standby on the runway and that there were no casualties, and the cause of the damage was not determined.

Video of the emergency landing shows sparks and smoke billowing as the plane’s nose is dragged along the runway before it is doused with firefighting foam.

The runway was temporarily closed to traffic, but aircraft movement on the airport’s remaining runways continued as usual.
