Giorgos Otias gave an interview to Anna Drosa and the program “What We Don’t Say” on the Open channel, on the occasion of his candidacy for the European elections with the New Democracy Party. The well-known journalist spoke about how he learned of his father’s death, as well as about his serious health condition.
I was up in the air when I learned of my father’s death
“Who didn’t say God help me or Virgin Mary. I was in Alpha when the director told me during the screening that my father had died. It was 8:10. And after ten seconds, everything stopped, and I said I had to grit my teeth and said ‘Let’s go straight To the video. “I said, ‘No matter what happens, I want you to tell me.’ This was the first really difficult thing I had ever gone through.”
My doctor said, “Surgery is tomorrow.”
Giorgos Aftias also shocked by his confession about his serious health problem: “The last one was last summer, while we were preparing everything for the vacation, I had a PSA test, the doctor called me and said ‘forget it’. He says ‘surgery is tomorrow’. We caught it in Good time I urge everyone to get tested.
It was prostate cancer. It was a difficult surgery and since then I haven’t taken any vacations or anything. The first thought that came to my mind was, “Now it will work, I want to live.” At the same time, you change a lot of things since you went through this phase.
