A brand new stretch of highway was built 10 years ago and not a single car has driven on it since, in a major construction failure.
Unusual, at least by German standards, The 17.6 km long highway has a story to tellnwhich was completed more than a decade ago, but was never used, so today it looks like a completely realistic dystopian movie set.
This is the German A4 motorway, part of which was built in 2014 with the aim of opening it to traffic, but, The decision to expand a nearby mine changed plans so radically that the newly built road was never used.
Instead of yielding to traffic, part of the highway was left to its own devices Elementals of nature, who vowed to restore order and reclaim the lost Earth.
The only human intervention that has occurred since then has been the removal of road markings and… Establishing a small solar garden with photovoltaic panels with a capacity of 750 kilowatts.
Even one The road bridge constructed over 17.6 km remains unclaimedAnd not unfairly claiming the title of haunted.
Given that the mine’s operation will not end until 2040, the possibility of 17.6 kilometers of the German A4 motorway joining the country’s road network is considered unlikely.
At this point it should be noted After the end of the mining process, the area where the mining took place will be flooded with water and the second largest lake in Germany will be createdAfter Lake Constance, which is located on the border with Liechtenstein and has an area of 536 square kilometers.
