In his detailed review of Unboxholics.com, Sakis Karpas noted:
Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 is a game that deals with the grief of the human soul, the mind’s tormented journey into darkness, and redemption from despair. It abstracts the entity of the heroes and with strong symbolism taken from Norse mythology, gives a powerful cinematic experience. It’s less of a “game” than I wanted, it doesn’t take risks/try anything new, text-wise it lacks a climax, while narrative-wise it’s more poetic than audiences like. If you enjoyed the first Hellblade game, you owe it to yourself to experience the rest of the ride.
