Just like last year, The Razr series consists of two devices: The flagship, the Razr+, starts at $1,000 and the less expensive model, the regular Razr, starts at $700. However, Motorola has made some major changes in order to bridge the gap between the two devices. Both phones have a standard internal OLED display with a 165Hz refresh rate for the Razr+, while the panel on the regular version has a 120Hz refresh rate. Meanwhile, on the outside, Motorola has created a new hinge, which it claims is 30% smaller, while increasing the size of the front display (covered with Gorilla Glass Victus for added durability).
The Razr+’s external display is now 4 inches, compared to 3.6 inches on last year’s model. But the regular Razr has taken a more dramatic leap, replacing its predecessor’s 1.5-inch screen with a new 3.6-inch screen. Also, thanks to the upgraded Panels UI, users can open almost any app on the Razr’s front display, with the only exceptions being those that require a specific and higher resolution. However, the most significant improvement in the overall ease of use of the devices is that both are now IPX8 certified for water resistance (up from the previous certification, IP52), meaning they have been tested to withstand submersion in water up to 1 degree and half a meter deep for 30 minutes. .
Aesthetically, the Razr+ will be available in Midnight Blue, Spring Green, Hot Pink (which pays homage to the vibrant purple shade of the first Razr) and Peach Fuzz. The minimalist Razr will be available in three colors: Koala Grey, Beach Sand, and a particularly eye-catching shade that Motorola describes as Spritz Orange. Apart from the gray model, the rest come with a leather-covered back. The gray model has a suede cover on the back, similar to silicone, but with a softer finish. However, both options are a nice change from the glass backs now found on almost all other phones.

For taking photos, both devices have a 32MP selfie camera on the inside, as well as a 50MP external camera, and either a 2x telephoto camera on the Razr+, or an ultra-wide-angle camera on the regular Razr. Motorola has announced that it has upgraded the video camera function to automatically activate when the user folds the screen and rotates the phone 90 degrees, a development that may make the transition from photos to videos a little easier.
In terms of software, Motorola, in turn, follows the dictates of artificial intelligence, offering a number of functions of its own. The Razr supports Google Gemini (including three months free access to Gemini Advanced when you purchase the device) as well as Motorola’s own AI tools. This includes Magic Canvas, which allows images to be created using written descriptions, as well as the easy-to-use Style Sync, which allows the user to take a photo of their outfit to create a matching wallpaper for use on the device, a small but clever feature. Details for fashionistas who don’t want their mobile phone to be out of place with their look.
Later in the year, Motorola will add more AI features, including Catch Me Up which will be able to create a summary of all the updates the device receives so you don’t have to see them one by one if you leave the device for a while. However, the most important feature may be to remember this. With it, you’ll be able to ask Moto AI to take a photo, screenshot, or audio, and then describe the most important details to you when you ask.
Finally, the Razr+ is based on the third-generation Snapdragon 8s processor, has 12GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, and a 4,000 mAh battery, which is slightly larger than the 3,700 mAh battery. Galaxy Z Flip 5. Meanwhile, the minimalist Razr has notable but less impressive features, including a MediaTek Dimensity 7300X processor, 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage. However, the simple model of the series has a slightly larger battery, at 4200 mAh.
