The decision of the Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports to tackle financial illiteracy by introducing an additional curriculum on basic financial statistics and tools to 1st high school was announced at the 5th International Conference of the Greek Chamber of Commerce. The Minister of Education, Religion and Sports will thus best respond to the identified need for young people to acquire a clear and strong relationship with basic financial functions and financial instruments, and to systematically teach financial literacy to young people from the early years, both to the permanent views of the Economic Council.

“As part of my participation in the 5th International Conference of the Economic Council of Greece, I had the opportunity to present our project on financial literacy to the Ministry of Education, Religion and Sports.
From September 2025, with an additional course on basic financial statistics and tools at the 1st Lyceum and a targeted enrichment of skills workshops, students will gain useful knowledge to face future challenges more effectively.”
