Lefteris Avgenakis: What the employee said after the incident with the MP

There has been a lot of commotion after the incident of violence at L airport. Between Venizelos, Lefteris Avgenakis and an airport employee. Lefteris Avgenakis was asked to explain to the director of the ND’s operational committee and to the speaker of the parliament, and was finally removed from the ND’s parliamentary committee.

Following this, the employee filed a case against the former minister, while there is information about a second video showing the MP’s all-out assault on the airport employee.

“He cursed me and threatened me”: these are the first words of the 22-year-old employee of the airport “Eleftherios Venizelos”. He described everything that happened with Heraklion MP Lefteris Avgenakis.

And, as broadcast by ANT1’s “To Proinono” program, the airport employee added: “He was beside himself, he cursed me, threatened me and caused me fear and anxiety.”

Lefteris Avgenakis: “Forgiveness”

“I clearly regret and apologize for the recent tension and disruption at the airport with a company employee trying to board a flight to Heraklion.

However, at the same time, I am surprised by the exaggerations and inaccuracies that have been spread about an incident such as “severe blows”, “faints”, “manual tests” on me in the last few days.

In fact, I had a verbal altercation with a company employee who refused to allow me to board, claiming that boarding was over, while, as far as I could see, the passengers were in the boarding bellows.

Finally, he refused to let me speak to his supervisor or another airline official as a last ditch effort to get me on time. However, the incident was limited to a disagreement and verbal tension.”

Lefteris Avgenakis: Frame by frame episode with worker

In the video, Lefteris Avgenakis can be seen attacking an employee at the departure gate. OSEYPE (Employees in Airport Services) complains that the former minister assaulted the employee. A trainee police officer who intervened then threatened to transfer him while shouting, “Don’t touch me, I’m immune”.
