the First DescendantNexon’s recently launched free-to-play shooter has been the talk of social media for the past few hours because it appears to be using icons that bear a striking resemblance to many of its games. Fate 2 Ha Bungee.

And his correspondent specifically ForbesIt was Paul Tassi who brought the spotlight to light, as he compiled a series of icons from both games and pointed out the striking similarities between them. According to Tassi, while the icons don’t represent the same abilities in each game, their shapes and design elements are strikingly similar, suggesting that the developers were heavily inspired by Bungie’s popular game.

In his analysis, Tassi also noted the similarities between many of the weapons in the first Destiny and those in Destiny 2. However, he noted that these similarities were less pronounced than the iconography. Below you can see a composite image showing the similar icons for the two titles:

Given that The First Descendant draws from different games in the genre, such as Warframe and Destiny, some overlap in design elements is to be expected. However, it’s the extent of these similarities that has impressed the community. If further evidence emerges that shows significant design inspiration from Bungie, Nexon will likely have to change its visuals to avoid potential backlash.

The First Descendant launched last week for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox, and has garnered hundreds? thousands of players.
