It will be like Mykonos, but… it will be in Athens!
This is what those who choose to bathe on some of the beaches of Attica feel, where sunbeds now cost more and… than a bouzouki table!
The amounts offered are exorbitant and certainly not justified by the facilities of each beach bar.
The most outrageous prices for sunbeds
Proof of this is the fact that in the Vouliagmeni Riviera area, to get a privileged sunbed, that is, next to the wave, one needs to put one’s hand in one’s pocket and pay up to 220 euros, according to a SKAI report.
Sun loungers are also easily accessible in other areas of the Athenian Riviera. A typical example is the organised beach of Kavouri, which charges €150 per person for sun loungers on weekends and €105 on weekdays.
In Lagonissi, the highest price offered is 100 euros per person, while on weekdays it drops to 50 euros. In Varkiza, the price of a sunbed is 80 euros, while on weekdays it is 60 euros.
In Sounio, a sunbed costs up to 80 euros and drops to 50 euros on weekdays, while in Voula the price is up to 90 euros on weekends and 60 euros on weekdays.
In fact, as the report notes, anyone who wants to can now “book” online!
