Historic Discovery: New Continent Found on Our Planet – Where Is It?

Researchers have made a major discovery when they discovered a new mini-continent located between Greenland and Canada.

It was recently discovered by scientists after conducting an extensive study of the area, but there are still some mysteries to be solved.

The new microcontinent is located in Davis Strait, which lies between Canada’s Baffin Island and southwestern Greenland.

The researchers were able to map the area using gravity data and seismic reflection data.

This led to a rebuilding of the tectonic plates in the region.

“A long period of rifting and spreading of the seafloor between Greenland and North America formed the Labrador Sea and Baffin Bay basins, which are connected by the Davis Strait,” the research team says in the report. “However, there is disagreement about the exact movements of the plates between Greenland and Canada, as well as the tectonic evolution of the Davis Strait, with previous models unable to explain the origin of the unusually thick continental crust within the seaway.”

When the team was reconstructing the area, they found an unusually thick crust that was actually its own mini-continent.
