Panathinaikos
In the person of Tite, Panathinaikos has identified the player it wants to strengthen in the attacking flanks, as was observed in Turkey in the past hours.
The case of Brazilian right winger Tete (Matheus Cardoso Lemos Martins), a player for Galatasaray in Turkey, has been linked to Panathinaikos, according to Turkish reports.
According to the websites that covered the Turkish team’s report, “…Panathinaikos plans to make an official offer to Tite for a loan with an option to buy.“Complete how”…Galatasaray positive about possible sale of player“
Tete was bought from Galatasaray last August by Shakhtar for €2.5m, and has had a very busy season with Okan Buruk’s side, scoring three goals and providing six assists in 45 games in all competitions.
He won the championship with Galatasaray, while he previously also won the Turkish Super Cup. He also won similar titles in Ukraine with Shakhtar (2 championships, 1 cup, 1 Super Cup) which he joined in February 2019, while he had two loan spells with Leicester City and Lyon.
It is clearly a very interesting case of a winger who possesses the ‘package’ of competitive characteristics that Diego Alonso is looking for, while at this stage Galatasaray does not seem to be counting on him.
Titi is among the cases that have been suggested for the “cloverleaf” and it remains to be seen whether the whole process will be more formalized as reported by Turkish media.
