Foldable iPhone could be released in 2026 – iPhone

Meanwhile, information from various Korean press sites indicates that Apple officially began researching foldable technologies in 2024, when the relevant agreement was signed with Samsung. If the new model is confirmed to be launched in 2026, Apple will have recorded a two-year design and development cycle.

From what we’ve heard so far, Apple has opted for a clamshell design, which means the potential iPhone Fold will be quite reminiscent of existing proposals, such as the Motorola Razr or the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip. It’s estimated that when unfolded, the iPhone Fold will have dimensions similar to current iPhone models. However, it’s still unclear whether the iPhone Fold will feature a display on the device’s cover, as is the case with most similar designs already on the market.

Apparently, this isn’t the first time Apple has been rumored to be interested in such foldable devices. In the past, there have been rumors of a foldable iPad or even a MacBook, but if the report is confirmed, the iPhone will be the first to get such a model.
