Greece has a low proportion of fast chargers to the entire charging network for electric cars, which limits its development.
For an electric car to travel beyond its range, it needs to charge in a short time. Fast chargers can do this in about half an hour, but outside the Athens-Thessaloniki route they are rare.
Also, the few that do exist should be available when the driver needs them, which is practically questionable.
According to the new report of the International Energy Organization, our country has about 0.8 kilowatts of charging capacity per electric vehicle, which is very satisfactory based on international data.
However, most of them include slow chargers with a capacity of 11 kW, which do not provide a solution because they take several hours to fill up. It indicates that only 7% fast in our country.

As the International Energy Agency points out, New Zealand may have too many electric cars for its charging network, but 75% of those are fast chargers, so that’s no problem for drivers.
