The new video comes to share with all the fans the nostalgia of the past and we saw it during the live opening of Gamescom 2024. In case you are not familiar with it, it is a complete remake with a modern technical field, to experience the strategy that few loved so much. Let us remind you that the development of “AoM: Retold” was carried out by six studios: World’s Edge, Forgotten Empires, Tantalus Media, CaptureAge and Virtuos Games.
All units and environments from the original game will return updated and with brand new animations, thanks to the Bang Engine that was also used in Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition.
For the record, Age of Mythology was originally released in 2002 by Ensemble Studios. It is part of the Age of Empires series, which is inspired by ancient Greek, Egyptian, and Norse mythology and legend, rather than actual historical events. Its gameplay is similar to the main games, except that it includes special features that revolve around the gods and the overall theme of the game. A year after its debut in 2003, the expansion pack Age of Mythology: The Titans arrived.
Age of Mythology Retold is expected to release on September 4 for PC and Xbox. The game will also be available on Xbox Game Pass day one. Watch the new trailer below.
