““My family’s reaction was that they were very happy for me,” Rogers said.
Rogers said he plans to arrive in Seattle next January and plans to help the 2023 class.
“I will be joining early and trying to recruit my little brother and hopefully he will be the best recruit in the 2023 class,” Rogers said.
Rogers said he wasn’t interested in distance when he realized Washington was the place for him.
““It was a big factor in the beginning but I wanted to pick what was best for me and Washington is,” Rogers said.
Rogers chose huskies over performances from Arizona, Boston College, Colorado, Fresno State, Nevada, Oregon, San Diego State, San Jose State, University of California, Los Angeles, University of Southern California, Utah, and Washington State.
He said he closed his recruitment.
“I’m done with the hits,” Rogers said. “It gives me great satisfaction to know that I don’t have to worry about that anymore and to know that I can worry about my next season.”
When he was young, he ran for 1,246 yards with 10 touchdowns and gained 31 passes for 614 yards and six touchdowns. Defensively, he added 31 tackles, three interceptions and a pair of fumbling recoveries.
