A bar in Mykonos was “closed” for 48 hours due to tax violations

The Economic Police Directorate and the Sub-Directorate of the Economic Police of Northern Greece, undertook a “safari” to companies with a health interest, in order to identify violations of labor, insurance and tax legislation, during the period from 20 to 23 June, 2024.

Audits were conducted in a total of 17 companies in the regions of Athens, Mykonos and Pieria, while one of them was found to be in violation of tax legislation, and its work is expected to be suspended for 48 hours.

More specifically, in the context of controls, it was found that:

In the areas of Athens
· In a traditional café to employ -4- employees who are not included in the annual employee list,

· In the field of food and beverage services to employ -3- employees who are not included in the annual employee list

· In the café to employ an employee who is not registered in the annual employee roster, as well as an employee outside the mentioned working hours.

In the areas of Mykonos
· In the field of catering, for employing an employee outside working days, while at the same time it was found that at least one of the required retail sales documents for the tax year 2024, €1,050.09, was not issued, an offense for which he was committed and for which he is expected to be suspended for 48 hours,

· In the beach bar to employ -6- workers outside working days,

· In a tourism business company, to employ an employee outside working days and an employee outside working hours,

· In the cafeteria of a night entertainment center, to employ an off-hours employee and an off-hours employee,

· In a commercial establishment operating in amusement and entertainment venues, to employ -3- employees outside working hours,

· In the field of catering to employ -4- workers who are not registered in the employee rosters

· In a fast food store to employ an employee who is not registered in the employee lists.

In the regions of Berea
· In a steakhouse – beach bar, to employ -19- workers, for whom the list of employees was not shown, while at the same time it was found that -3- receipts with a total total value of -67.80- euros had not been issued,

· In a beach café-bar to employ -6- employees, one of whom is not registered in the employee rosters displayed and -5- outside working hours, while at the same time it was found that -8- receipts with a total value of -110- euros were not issued,

· In a hotel restaurant to employ -2- employees who are not registered in the employee rosters displayed,

· In the café – beach bar to employ an employee outside working hours

· In a café to employ an employee outside working hours, and at the same time it was found that -7 receipts with a total value of -55.03- euros had not been issued.

In the above cases, the competent services (D.OY., PEKA, SEPE) will be informed to impose the corresponding administrative sanctions.

It is noteworthy that citizens can call, without revealing their identity or name, on the phone number 11012 or the Greek State website (gov.gr) “Financial Crimes Complaint”, to provide information or to report illegal and indirect acts or activities against the Greek State. The economy and public ownership sector, as well as welfare, social and insurance rights.
