AirPods Pro 2 could feature lossless support in the future

Apple announced AirPods Pro 2 during its “Far Out” event. While everyone keeps talking about it The new dynamic island on the iPhone 14 Pro seriesThere is one product that Cupertino has excelled at – the AirPods Pro 2. The AirPods Pro 2 have everything you need – and more – but Apple has yet to announce another feature this product can offer.

AirPods Pro 2 may look the same at first glance, but Apple has rebuilt these wireless earbuds. While we still have to see how it has improved in real life, the company’s promises are impressive.

Personally, the original AirPods Pro Fits my ears well. Active noise cancellation is amazing, and these are my favorite wireless earbuds for when I’m on the subway, taking a bus trip, or needing to disconnect from the world. With Apple claiming that the new H2 chip can cancel noise twice as well, that’s something I’m looking forward to testing.

And if the ANC improves, the transparency mode has also improved. Apple now calls it Adaptive Transparency, which the company says can “reduce loud environmental noises — like the sirens of passing vehicles, construction tools, or even blaring spears at a concert.”

In addition, AirPods Pro 2 has another long-awaited feature, which is touch control. Users can finally lower or raise the volume by sliding their fingers on the bottoms of the AirPods.

While Apple tweaked its first AirPods Pro case to work with the Find My app, the company finally added a U1 chip in its MagSafe charging case, making it easier than ever to locate wireless earbuds — and also have them play audio thanks to its built-in speakers.

Last but not least, the company is adding extra-small ear tips so the AirPods Pro 2 can fit more in the ears. With all that in mind, there’s one last thing Apple didn’t mention during the keynote, but it could mean this product could be even better than we expect.

AirPods Pro 2 brings Bluetooth 5.3 support, could bring new codec support and ‘Lossless’ playback

from two months, Bluetooth SIG announced It has finalized the LE Audio specification, which means companies can take advantage of this technology.

The low-complexity communications codec – LC3 for short – can transmit at much lower bit rates without compromising the audio quality we currently see with the Bluetooth standard – and the good part is that Apple is already testing it with AirPods Max.

A developer was able to activate this codec with the latest AirPods beta firmware saying that it improves the sound quality in calls, but there was something missing in the AirPods: Bluetooth 5.2 support.

HomePod Lossless Support

Fortunately, AirPods Pro 2 and iPhone 14 offer that, which means that Apple can not only support higher bitrate with these products but offer a kind of lossless streaming with Apple Music.

This new codec can let you listen to songs, watch movies and more, while connecting multiple wireless earbuds at the same time. Currently, you can only connect up to two AirPods from the same source.

While it looks like Apple is still testing this feature, the company could announce a revolution in audio streaming thanks to this new codec and this new hardware available.

While I look forward to Apple expanding the capabilities of the AirPods Pro 2, I’d also say you shouldn’t expect the company to officially announce support for this new codec. For example, the new Apple TV 4K could provide a refresh rate of 120 Hz thanks to support for HDMI 2.1, but after a year, the company did not update Decoder to introduce this technology to users.

How do you like the new AirPods Pro 2? Do you think Apple will eventually support this new codec and improve your music experience with these earbuds? Share your thoughts in the comment section below.
