A private funeral for the international movie star is expected to be held today, Saturday (24/8). Alain Delon At his home in a duchy in central France.
It is noteworthy that the famous French actor passed away on Sunday (18/8) after a long struggle with lymphoma.
The ceremony will be held in a family atmosphere in the church of the property he bought himself in 1971, as was his last wish.
According to CNews and BFMTV, the funeral will take place at 17:00 local time, but a large crowd is expected to gather outside the estate to bid a final farewell to the French cinema icon.
Only the actor’s children and 50 other people who received invitations will participate in the ceremony.
However, the family barred Dillon’s last companion and caregiver in his final years, 66-year-old Hiromi Rolin, from attending the private ceremony.
In one of his last interviews in Paris Match magazine in 2021, Alain Delon stated that he wanted a “discreet” global funeral attended only by relatives, close friends and confidants.
“I don’t want a public funeral. I’m not interested in that at all,” the late star said.
He expressed on several occasions his desire to be buried near his dogs, which he loved so much.
