American actor Treat Williams died in a car accident

At the age of 71, American actor Treat Williams, who was the victim of a car accident, died. While he was riding his motorcycle, on a Monday afternoon, a car hit him at a turn.

Cure Williams rose to fame as the star of the movie Hair (1979) and the TV series Everwood.

His performance as the leader of the hippie group George N. Hare earned him a Golden Globe nomination for New Star of the Year. He also received a Golden Globe Award nomination for Best Actor in a Motion Picture Drama for his role in the 1981 film Prince of the City.

He was nominated for an Emmy Award for Best Actor in 1996 for The Late Shift and a Golden Globe Award for his performance as Stanley Kowalski in the 1984 film Bus.

Two decades later, he landed the lead role of Dr. Andy Brown on the television series Everwood, starring in all four seasons and earning SAG Award nominations for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in 2002 and 2003.

He has appeared in more than 120 films, plays and television productions, including Heart of Dixie, 127 Hours, and The Eagle Has Landed.

The actor was born in Connecticut in 1951. He made his acting debut in the thriller Deadly Hero, but the 1979 film Hair, based on the Broadway musical, made his breakthrough.

He is survived by his wife, actress Pam Van Sant, and their two children.
