Android smartphones may finally get a battery health indicator – Android

According to condition By Android expert Mishal Rahman Google may soon introduce a feature that allows Android users to monitor their phone's battery health.

This is a feature that iPhone users have had access to for some time, but Android users have had to rely on third-party apps or special command codes to check battery health.

In the latest Pixel Features Drop, new battery information has been added, which now displays the battery's manufacturing date and number of charge cycles. Additionally, Android 14 QPR2 Beta 2 has a hidden page titled “Battery Status.” Although it doesn't yet have a battery health meter, the code suggests it can display information like the estimated percentage of charge the battery can hold compared to when it was new.

Rahman discovered icons that appear to represent low battery capacity or no battery detected. It also said that the Settings app will offer “advice” when there are battery status updates, such as when your smartphone can't detect the battery or when the battery health is deteriorating.

Although iPhone users have been able to access battery health information for years, it's encouraging that Android users may soon have a similar feature, accessible directly from Settings.
