“Apothecary” in Agia Varvara

A drug trafficking ring was discovered in Agia Varvara, Attica. A total of four people were arrested inside the house where the drug trade took place.

The Public Security Department of the Security Sub-Directorate of Western Attica “untethered” a drug trafficking ring with a base in the Agia Varvara Attica area.

Four people were arrested in the case, while the case file created at the same time includes two others who are accused of “joining a criminal drug trafficking organization, dishonesty, fraud, accepting the proceeds of crime and violating the law on weapons of the Customs Code.”

Since it was established, members of the circle used a house in Agia Varvara, which they operated as a “drug store” for drug addicts.

In this context, on October 31, 2023, in the morning hours of Tuesday, when two ring members were seen entering the house, a police operation was launched with the help of OPKE team members. and a specially trained dog.

In fact, during the operation, the police officers used special tools to break the thick reinforced metal door on the ground floor of the house, and the gang members ignited the stove to burn the drugs and other items.

Two members of the ring and one other person were arrested from the raids on the premises of the house, while an operation followed at another house in the same area where an additional person was arrested.

In all, during the search conducted in the presence of the Judicial Officer, the following were found and seized:

* 3 aluminum foil packages with raw cannabis weighing 8.2 grams,

* Homemade cigarettes with hemp and tobacco weighing 1.2 grams,

* 3 burnt solid pieces of an unknown substance weighing 185 grams, one of which had a strong odor of processed cannabis (chocolate variety).

* 2 graters and improved packaging materials,

* Precision electronic scales and scales with a minimum unit of measurement of 1 gram,
Closed circuit surveillance recorder and 5 cameras,

* 2 mobile phones,

* Shells, balls and bullets of various calibres,

* Many fake products,

* Shotgun, determined to be stolen,

* Number of 12 cal hunting bullets,

* 65 Euros and Iron Fist.

Those arrested were taken to the competent prosecutor’s office, where three of them were referred to the competent investigator, and one was sent to the three-member misdemeanor court of Athens.
