Apple M3 Ultra SoC will have a 32-core CPU and an 80-core GPU – Apple

Apple can issued The new M3 SoC series has recently debuted with the new wave of 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros, but… Rumors are circulating and this time it’s about the upcoming M3 Ultra SoC.

Today, the Apple M3 Max is the flagship SoC version of the Apple M3 series and features a 16-core CPU and a 40-core GPU with support for up to 128GB of onboard memory (RAM). However, according to the latest rumors, Apple is preparing a high-end SoC called Apple’s M3 Ultra which will have a 32-core CPU and an 80-core GPU, and will support twice the amount of onboard memory up to 256GB.

The more powerful M3 Ultra news comes from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman’s latest “Power On” newsletter, in which the insider mentions that the M3 Ultra may have a “massive 80 graphics cores.” How “impressive” the GPU cores will be in the M3 Ultra when the M2 Ultra has 76 GPU cores remains to be seen, however… that will tell. However, the M3 Ultra SoC will have twice as many CPU cores and twice as many GPU cores than the M3 Max because it is essentially an SoC made up of two M3 Max chips sharing resources via Apple’s UltraFusion hyperlink.

Logically, we expect the new M3 Ultra to appear on Mac Studio sometime in 2024 or another PC. Time will tell.
