Apple: New iPhone overheats due to ‘software glitch’ and ‘certain apps’

Apple stated that the temperature increase was seen in some phones of the last generation iPhone This is due to a software glitch and some applications.

The company said that it will fix the bug in the iOS 17 software through an update, and that it is working with developers of applications that “cause problems.”

Buyers of the new iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max have been reporting for days in online forums — including Apple’s customer support pages, Reddit and other social media — that their devices are too hot to touch.

More than 2,000 users reported on Apple forums that they encountered the overheating issue.

Some experts expect the iPhone 15 Pro to heat up because its frame is made of titanium, which may be less effective at dissipating heat compared to the stainless steel used by its predecessors. However, Apple said in its statement that the overheating issues are not related to the titanium frame.

The iPhone 15 Pro is the first smartphone to be manufactured using new 3nm chip technology from Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, a chipmaker that supplies Apple and Nvidia as well as several other Silicon Valley companies.

The company added that the problem is not related to switching to a new charging cable, which is the most important change in the iPhone. It is reported that charging using the USB-C port was introduced, as Apple had to comply with the new EU regulation. Under which all portable electronic devices will have to use the same charger with the specific connector that will be common to iPhone, iPad and Mac.
