according Publishing According to Mark Gurman, a well-known Apple insider, the company plans to introduce USB-C charging cases for AirPods Pro this year, followed by AirPods and AirPods Max in the future. This will coincide with the iPhone 15’s almost certain switch to USB-C this fall, making it easier for Apple users to charge all of their devices with a single cable.
Apple is also working to add more health-related features to the AirPods, such as hearing tests and temperature sensors. The Hearing Test will make different sounds and tones and use data about them to help determine a person’s hearing quality. The temperature sensor will be able to measure body temperature through the ear canal, which is a much more accurate process than the Apple Watch. These features can help users detect if they are suffering from a cold or other illness as well as keep track of their overall health.
Health features are still a work in progress and may not be ready for several months or years, as Apple follows a staggered three-year cycle of major releases for AirPods models. However, this move shows that Apple is not resting on its laurels and is constantly looking for ways to improve its products and services. The AirPods have already been a huge hit, but with USB-C and health features, they could become even more important to Apple fans and perhaps attract more Android users as well.
