An important development for Lenovo and Motorola in the German market
their cell phones Lenovo And Motorola They seem to have problems in their market Germany.
A court in the country banned the two companies from selling the devices, as they appear to be using patents belonging to the American company InterDigital for some parts of the WWAN network (responsible for communicating with other networks and devices).
This means that not all mobile phones supporting GSM, UMTS, LTE and 5G are currently allowed for sale in Germany, including the new Edge 50 series models.
Lenovo uses the technologies without ceding the relevant rights to InterDigital, and a dispute between the two companies led to this development.
Lenovo describes the American company’s demands as unreasonable and will appeal against this decision.
Until we get something final, Lenovo and Motorola partners will be able to sell available stock, while all relevant models are being downloaded from the two companies’ online stores until further notice.
However, in all likelihood, the parties will reach an out-of-court agreement that may provide a final resolution to the matter.
